Early Life

Albacete Balompie

Iniesta was born on May 11, 1984 in Albacete, Spain. In 1992, at the age of 8, he was registered to play for the lower categories, or juniors, of the football club Albacete Balompie after passing the tryouts successfully.

La Masia

In 1996, at the of 12, he played the Torneo Nacional Alevin, or known as the Brunete Tournament. His participation in this tournament stood out the most, which attracted the interest of two of the biggest clubs in Spain, Real Madrid and Barcelona. Barcelona ended up winning the race between both clubs and at the end of september of 1996, Barcelona signed Iniesta to the club's youth academy called La Masia, where he would begin his training progress with the club.

Barcelona B

At the age of 15, he made his debut with Barcelona B. Andres played 2 season in this division and he would occasionally practice with the first team. On december 21, 2002, he made his professional debut for a La Liga match against Mallorca. Although Iniesta was given such opportunity, he continued to be part of Barcelona B until 2004. In 2004, he became a regular player of the first team and the rest is history.
